Sam, Dr. Lingo’s son, graduated cum laude from the University of Southern Indiana in 2005, earned an MBA in 2008 from the University of North Florida, and has been a part of our practice since he was 16. As a teenager, he learned to assist with dental tooth charting using the “old school” red and blue pencil method, years before computers were used in dental operatories. Having a strong background in dental assisting, Sam understands the clinical side of dentistry; he has the ability to see and explain treatment in a logical way that is easy for patients to understand. Sam began learning about practice management when he was a teenager and was instrumental in setting up our first computer. Over the years, he has proved himself invaluable as our technology expert. Sam administrates the day to day operations and business of our practice. He has extensive knowledge of the insurance industry and works hard to help our patients maximize their insurance plan benefits. Sam is especially empathetic to patients who have dental fear and request sedation. He understands fear is a road block to optimal dental health and goes above and beyond to ensure our patients’ comfort and care and will forfeit his own lunch time if needed to drive a sedated patient home following a procedure. When not working, Sam enjoys cooking, spoiling his two dogs Jasmine and Georgia, traveling and attending Miami Hurricane football and UK basketball games.
